Journeo renews its distribution agreement with Safety Tech

Transportation Systems Technology Company day announced the renewal of its exclusive distribution agreement with Safety Tech, a subsidiary of Vision Systems France, for its camera surveillance system (CMS) for ‘mirrorless’ buses and coaches throughout the UK.

The AIM-listed company announced the initial deal in November 2018.

Additionally, under the new three-year agreement, the company would be able to supply Journeo CMS to specialist vehicle suppliers and bus and coach operators across Sweden, through Stockholm-based subsidiary 21st Century. .

The first installation in Stockholm was due to be completed this month, before being commissioned by Arriva Sweden for evaluation.

Journeo CMS was now installed on over 1,000 buses from 27 fleet operators and was the ‘market leading solution’ for buses in the UK.

Consisting of a number of high-definition digital cameras and monitors, it replaces traditional exterior mirrors to improve visibility, reduce the risk of accidents and reduce vehicle running costs.

In January, Journeo CMS was the first system to be fitted to an Alexander Dennis E400 vehicle already in service with Nottingham City Transport, while in London TfL’s ‘Vision Zero’ program requirements now require the CMS, rather exterior mirrors, is installed on all new buses entering service in the capital.
