KOLKATA: The state of health of Sadhan Pande, the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Self-Help Group and Independent Employment, is still considered “very critical”. He was put on a ventilator. The four-member medical council is constantly monitoring his condition.
According to hospital sources, his lung infection worsened and irregularities were found in his heartbeat. Doctors are still concerned about his state of health. A rumor had spread among a section of users of social networks on Saturday evening about the minister. Shreya Pande, the minister’s daughter, called on the population via social media not to listen to any rumors. She also said many called her to inquire about her father’s condition. She also urged people to pray for her father. Doctors will be able to do an MRI of the minister on Monday.
Pande was taken to a private city hospital on Friday evening in a semi-conscious condition and was eventually detected with pneumonia. He has been maintained on assisted ventilation since his admission. Pande had yet tested negative for Covid. He suffers from a severe lung infection. The septuagenarian was rushed to hospital after complaining of severe respiratory distress.
