SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV)
It remains very hot and even more agitated on Wednesday! We’re back in the upper 80s with dew points in the upper 60s. It’s quite mellow.
Our other weather headline for Wednesday is the potential for afternoon storms as a cold front approaches the area in the late afternoon / evening.
Expect the first set of storms to develop around 1:00 p.m. as the first of two cold fronts moves from west to east. A few storms could also be severe with damaging winds, large hail and heavy rains.
Another series of storms is expected during the evening journey between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Again, some of these storms could be strong to severe, so stay alert for the weather conditions!

All evening showers / storms will dissipate by midnight following a cold front as the wind moves northwest, the air cools and humidity levels drop rapidly.
Temperatures drop into the low 50s by sunrise on Thursday and most will be able to turn off the air conditioning and let Mother Nature cool the house / apartment on Wednesday evening!
It’s a refreshing Thursday with a high pressure construction zone outside of Canada. That said, we would expect plenty of sun to develop Thursday and the late May sun should help push temperatures into the mid to high 60s. A cool northerly breeze is expected Thursday too, just adding to the heat. the feeling of freshness.
A developing storm in the Ohio Valley is expected to slide south of us by the end of the week which will likely result in a wet and cool Friday with light rain expected. You’ll want to have the jacket handy on Friday as the peaks only top in the 50s!
The question is: will Friday rain linger at the start of the holiday weekend?
